Rosanna, Elisa and I went for a ride to the local castle and saw a performance by a bunch of kids from Russia. They all suffered somehow from Chernobyl and they spent their summer in Switzerland learning German.
Croatia was amazing. The people were wonderful and always up for a good yarn. We ate delicious food and the best gelato. I would definitely go back to Croatia in the future
On Thursday 28th July, we drove to Venice. The drive was approximately three hours long but worth it. Unfortunately for me I had stomach ache for the two days we were there. We arrived around lunch time and travelled with the bus into the heart and centre of Venice. We found this little restaurant with only a few customers. It looked really good so we decided to eat there; and eat we did :) I ordered “Spaghetti with Meatballs” which is “Spaghetti alla polpette di carne” in Italian. The meatballs were scrumptious. After we walked around Venice. I was very lucky and we decided to travel by Gondola which was unbelievable. Those gondolas were masterfully driven, I kept thinking we were going to sink! At one point we had to go under this tiny bridge and because the gondola is quite tall everyone had to lean to one side. I was fairly sure that I was going to fall in!
I stayed at the hotel because of my stomach ache but the rest of my host family went out for dinner and wandered the streets.
The next morning we wandered the streets near our hotel and I bought a few presents. Rosanna and I also saw a really creepy man in light purple jeans. Later we headed back into Venice and walked around some more. The city is so beautiful even if the waterways stink a little. I would definitely recommend visiting Venice! The drive home was long and we were all tired, but we made it home in one piece.
And that was my summer. I’ll post some pictures and then I’ll move onto the next chance I got to travel.
A huge apology to everyone. I know I haven’t updated recently and I won’t be finishing the Summer Holidays in the same way, just a quick summary. I will try and be more “regelmäßig” in the future. I’ll just write an update about what I have been up to in the past months so you all know :)
I am back at school which is nice because I get to see my friends again but school also comes with school work. I recently just came back from Mallorca, Spain. I went with my host family for the Autumn Holidays and let me tell you, it was absolutely stunning. I never really quite got the fact that I was in Spain. I know exciting stuff, right?
So I’ll just go and pop some photos up and write some more stuff. Bis bald.
